BMA Lite is a free WordPress booking plugin for appointment-based businesses. It adds an online booking form to your site and an appointment scheduler to your dashboard, with services, staff working hours, customers, an appointment list and a calendar. There is no trial period and no limit on services, staff or bookings.
A client picks a service, a specialist, a date and a time, enters their contact details, and pays at the appointment. The booking arrives as pending, and you approve it in WordPress.
Lite does not take online payments, send booking emails or SMS, stop two clients booking the same time, or connect to Google Calendar. It is not built for hotel rooms, rentals, event tickets or staff shift rotas.
Who it suits
Any business where a client books time with a particular person:
- Medical and therapy practices: a patient books a visit or consultation with a doctor, dentist, physiotherapist or therapist, and each one keeps their own hours and breaks.
- Salons and barbers: a customer chooses a treatment and a stylist at a hair salon, barbershop or spa.
- Tutors and teachers: a student books a lesson or tutoring session with a named tutor, alone or in a group.
What your clients see
- A five-step form: service, specialist, date and time, their details, and payment. It fits phone screens.
- Services with name, image and price, then only the specialists who offer the chosen one.
- Times every 30 minutes on the days the specialist works, with the whole appointment inside their hours and clear of their breaks.
- Booking from the next day on. Closed days and holidays cannot be chosen.
- A server check of each booking against what the form offers; if it does not match, the form says why.
- A WordPress account for new clients, with an emailed link to set a password. [rtwbmal_cus_login_page] lets them see their appointments, cancel those on a later day and edit their profile; [rtwbma_cus_register_page] adds registration if “Anyone can register” is on.
