Currently Reading

Supplying an ISBN (and, optionally, a Title) will display a cover image of the relevant book with a link to that book’s page on Google Books using the Google Books API.

Using the Widget you can choose whether to:

• Force all calls to Google to be HTTPS, instead of the API returned HTTP
• Pad the Image (selected by default, uses internal CSS)
• Display a Box-Shadow (selected by default, uses internal CSS)
• Choose Alternate Google Country (defaults to “Worldwide”)

as well as

• Decide whether you would like to use a Title
• Define the ISBN-10 or ISBN-13 of the book.

Usage

1. 01Activate the Plugin via “Plugins” → “Currently Reading” → “Activate” (if you hadn’t already done so).
2. 02Go to “Appearance” → “Widgets” and drag the “Reading” widget into whichever Sidebar you choose.
3. 03In the “Currently Reading” widget, you can then customise it further.

Manual Install

1. 01Unzip the currently-reading.zip file.
2. 02Upload currently-reading.php to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
3. 03Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
4. 04Use the “Currently Reading” widget (found under Appearance → Widgets).

Automated Install

1. 05Go to “Plugins” → “Add New” in your Control Panel.
2. 06Search for the keywords “Currently Reading”.
3. 07Click the “Install Now” button on “Currently Reading” by “Eugéne Roux”.
4. 08When prompted “Are you sure you want to install this plugin?” select “OK”.
5. 09Once the installation is finished, you will be prompted to “Activate Plugin”.
