This plugin relies on the Google Gemini API (a third-party service) to function.
Service Name: Google Gemini API (via Google AI Studio or Vertex AI)
How it works: 1. You must provide your own Google API key in the plugin settings. 2. When you click “Generate” or run scheduled generation, the plugin sends your selected topic, keywords, and configuration to Google’s Gemini endpoint. 3. Google processes this data to generate article text and optional featured image data, which is sent back to your WordPress site. 4. No other site data, user data, or traffic data is shared with Google.
Data Sent to Google: – Article topic/title – Keywords and category – Word count preferences – Writing style preferences – Image generation prompts (for featured images)
Data Received from Google: – Generated article content – Research findings and sources – Suggested titles and headings – Generated images (base64-encoded, saved to the Media Library)
Freemius (licensing and upgrades): This plugin uses the Freemius SDK to power the optional in-dashboard account, upgrade, and license features. Freemius does not collect any data unless you explicitly opt in; you can skip the opt-in screen and use the plugin normally. See the Freemius privacy policy at https://freemius.com/privacy/.
Other than the Google Gemini API above and the optional Freemius opt-in, no data is sent to any third-party service.

Draft2Publish does not collect, store, or transmit any user data except: 1. The content you explicitly choose to generate (topics, keywords) 2. Your API keys (stored securely in your WordPress database) 3. Basic security/abuse-prevention logs (IP address and user agent) when security logging is enabled in the plugin, used only to detect and prevent unauthorized access attempts.
All AI processing in this Lite build happens through your own API keys with Google Gemini. We never see or store your generated content.

Yes. The WordPress.org version runs on your own Google Gemini API key. You pay Google directly for any API usage, and Draft2Publish adds no token markup.
How many articles can I generate?
The free scheduler ships with up to 3 scheduled days per week, one article per day, and Quick Generate for one-off articles. The plugin never stops working or locks you out based on usage; your practical API usage depends on your own Google Gemini quota (see https://ai.google.dev/pricing). What article length can I generate?
The free version includes 700 to 1,000 word controls for generated articles. Draft2Publish Pro extends this to 2,500 words for long-form content.
What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?
GEO means structuring content so AI answer engines can understand, summarize, and cite it. Draft2Publish uses answer-first sections, question-style headings, FAQ-ready blocks, and source references.
Does the free WordPress.org version support ChatGPT or Claude?
No. The free version is Gemini-only. Draft2Publish Pro (available as an in-plugin upgrade) adds expanded provider and model options.
Will Google penalize AI-generated content?
Google Search focuses on helpful, high-quality content, regardless of how it is produced. However, using automation mainly to manipulate rankings can violate spam policies. Draft2Publish helps with research, citations, structure, and review workflows, but you should still verify facts and add your own expertise before publishing important content.
Does it support featured images?
Yes. The plugin can automatically generate and attach one featured image per article using Google’s image endpoint.
Can I schedule posts for future dates?
