Each one is only contacted in the situation described, and the plugin works without any of them. MetaSlider Connect (connect.metaslider.com) Only when you opt in to email updates. The opt-in box appears while you are adding or editing a download, and nothing is sent unless you type an address and submit it. The plugin then sends that address and this plugin’s slug, so we can send you the confirmation email and plugin news. Submitting the box again sends again, so you can ask for the email a second time if the first one did not arrive. This service is run by MetaSlider. Terms: https://www.metaslider.com/terms-of-use/ – Privacy: https://www.metaslider.com/privacy-policy/ IP geolocation (ipwhois.app) Only when you turn on “Look Up Country” in the download log settings. It is off by default, and it also needs download logging and IP capture to be on. When it is on, the visitor’s IP address is sent to this service to look up the country the download came from. Only the country comes back, and the plugin adds it to the log entry. Turn off “Look Up Country”, download logging, or IP capture, and no lookup is made. Terms: https://ipwhois.io/terms – Privacy: https://ipwhois.io/privacy Google reCAPTCHA (google.com/recaptcha) Only when you enable reCAPTCHA for your download buttons. The visitor’s browser loads reCAPTCHA from Google, and the plugin sends the visitor’s response token together with your secret key to Google to check it. Terms: https://policies.google.com/terms – Privacy: https://policies.google.com/privacy Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive file pickers Only when you have configured that source and click its button on the file editor. The picker runs in your browser, loaded from Dropbox (dropbox.com), Google (apis.google.com, accounts.google.com) or Microsoft (js.live.net), and hands the chosen file’s link back to the plugin.
