Used by the QR Code Generator tool to create QR code images on demand. When a user generates a QR code, the target URL is sent to the QR Server API and an image is returned.

Data sent: the URL you enter in the QR code generator. No personal data is transmitted.
IndexNow (api.indexnow.org)
Used by the IndexNow feature to notify Bing, Yandex, and other search engines when content is published or updated. This feature is opt-in and disabled by default.
Data sent: the public URL of the updated page and your IndexNow API key. No personal data is transmitted.
Google PageSpeed Insights (optional)
Used when a PageSpeed Insights API key is configured. When a scan runs, the plugin sends the homepage URL to the PSI API and retrieves Lighthouse scores. This feature is disabled by default.

Ollama (optional)
AI Helper can connect to an Ollama endpoint configured by a site administrator. By default, only loopback hosts on the WordPress server are allowed. Remote hosts must be explicitly trusted with the seoautopro_ai_helper_allowed_ollama_hosts filter.

Cloud AI providers (optional)
When selected and configured by an administrator, AI Helper can send generation requests to Google Gemini, GroqCloud, OpenRouter, OpenAI, or Anthropic Claude. These services are disabled until the administrator selects one and supplies any required API key. Provider accounts, quotas, free tiers, and charges are managed by the provider.

How many pages can the audit scan?
Up to 200 pages by default. You can adjust this using the seoautopro_post_scan_limit filter.
Are all four score categories free?
Yes. SEO, Accessibility, Performance, and Best Practices scores – including all issue details and fix recommendations – are fully available in the free plugin.
Does this plugin slow down my site?
No. The audit runs on-demand in the admin only. Front-end output is limited to the cookie banner and analytics snippets, both of which are lightweight and only active when you configure them.
How does WebP conversion update existing images?
When automatic conversion is enabled, a new supported upload keeps its attachment ID but changes its attached file, MIME type, generated sizes, and front-end attachment URLs to WebP. The optional “Keep original image files” setting retains the previous files as filesystem backups without continuing to serve them through the attachment.
The Media Library bulk conversion also replaces matching full-size and thumbnail URLs in post content, post metadata, and options, including serialized values, then clears affected WordPress object caches and the SEO Auditor page cache. Back up the database before a large bulk conversion.
What does the Cache Tool exclude?
It excludes logged-in visitors, private or session cookies, POST/AJAX/REST requests, previews, searches, feeds, 404 pages, embeds, functional query strings, non-200 responses, responses that set cookies or prohibit caching, and pages containing forms. Cached HTML is validated against its configured TTL before use. Static assets can receive long-lived browser expiry headers through the managed Apache rules or the included expires-headers.txt reference.
Which WordPress version is this release tested with?
Version 2.0.4 is tested for compatibility with WordPress 7.1.2, the latest release available when this plugin version was prepared.
Is the cookie banner GDPR compliant?
The banner provides accept/reject functionality with configurable consent defaults. You are responsible for ensuring your overall site complies with applicable privacy regulations.
Can I use this alongside other SEO plugins?
Yes. SEO Auditor Tools focuses on auditing and tooling rather than overriding all your meta output, so it works well alongside Yoast, Rank Math, or similar plugins.
How does PageSpeed Insights integration work?
Enter your free Google API key in SEO Auditor Tools → Audit Settings . The plugin will fetch Lighthouse scores when you run a scan and display them directly in the dashboard.
Does AI Helper change content automatically?
No. AI Helper asks the configured provider for a structured proposal, validates it, and shows it to an administrator for review and editing. Nothing is written until the administrator explicitly approves it. Applied changes are recorded and can be undone if the target has not subsequently changed.
Where must Ollama run?
The default endpoint points to the same server that hosts WordPress. Ollama running on your personal computer is not reachable from a remotely hosted WordPress site unless you provide a deliberately secured connection. Trusted remote Ollama hosts can be enabled by a developer with the seoautopro_ai_helper_allowed_ollama_hosts filter.
Which AI providers can I use?
The Free list includes Ollama, Google Gemini, GroqCloud, OpenRouter, and a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint. The Paid list includes Google Gemini, GroqCloud, OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint. A provider’s own free-tier limits, model availability, pricing, and account requirements can change. You can always enter a custom model ID when a newer supported model is not yet listed.
API keys can be saved through the AI Helper screen or kept out of the WordPress database by defining the matching SEOAUTOPRO_AI_GEMINI_API_KEY , SEOAUTOPRO_AI_GROQ_API_KEY , SEOAUTOPRO_AI_OPENROUTER_API_KEY , SEOAUTOPRO_AI_OPENAI_API_KEY , SEOAUTOPRO_AI_ANTHROPIC_API_KEY , or SEOAUTOPRO_AI_CUSTOM_API_KEY constant in wp-config.php. Saved keys are never displayed or included in Settings Export.
Can AI Helper suggest keywords and image alt text?
Yes. Keyword proposals use the selected page content and are saved separately from meta descriptions after administrator approval. The block editor also provides a Generate keywords with AI action. Google Search does not use the meta-keywords tag for indexing or ranking, so treat these phrases as editorial planning aids: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/special-tags
The audit flags informative images with missing or empty alt text. AI Helper can propose contextual alt text for images stored directly in page or post content, using the page context, source filename, nearby text, and available attachment title or caption. Decorative images marked with role="presentation" , role="none" , or aria-hidden="true" are excluded. Every proposal must be reviewed; AI Helper does not infer details that are absent from the available context.
Can the chatbot reveal drafts, private pages, or password-protected content?
No. Chatbot retrieval is restricted to published, publicly viewable, non-password-protected posts and pages. Drafts, pending content, private content, password-protected content, and other non-public post statuses are excluded both when content is queried and again before a result is used.
Uploaded document text is unavailable to visitors until an administrator explicitly approves it for chatbot answers. Original uploaded documents are not retained in a public downloads directory, document download links are never shown, and chatbot conversations are not stored by the plugin.
What does grounded AI do in the chatbot?
When enabled, the chatbot sends the visitor’s question and a small set of relevant, approved website excerpts to the provider configured in AI Helper. The model is instructed to answer only from those excerpts, treat source content as data rather than instructions, and identify the excerpts supporting its answer. Unsupported questions use the contact fallback. If AI is disabled or temporarily unavailable, the chatbot can still show its most relevant approved source excerpts.
