Stinoment Auto Image Uploader fixes this in one step. As soon as you paste content that contains external images, a small window opens and lists every image it found. With one click, the plugin downloads the images, saves them to your own Media Library, and replaces the addresses in your content. The rest of your HTML stays exactly as it was.
WebP conversion is always your choice. A simple checkbox decides whether images are converted to the lighter WebP format or kept in their original format.
