About this tool.
Style Genre lets you adjust translation wording, for example autrice|auteure, Autrice|Auteure .
Version 2.0 applies substitutions when translated strings are returned by PHP gettext functions or JavaScript wp.i18n functions. No translation files are rewritten and no recurring substitution job is necessary.
Existing substitution rules stored by Style Genre 1.x are preserved.
The replacements are literal, case-sensitive, and occur inside translated strings. They are applied in the order listed. This plugin does not intercept arbitrary text, third-party JavaScript localization systems, or already-rendered HTML.

Getting started.
Install or update Style Genre, activate it and open Settings > Style Genre. Enter comma-separated rules in the form original|replacement and save. No manual operation is needed after translation updates.
Frequently asked questions.
Are my previous rules preserved?
Yes, the option style_genre_substitution_rules and its format remain unchanged.
Are translation files modified?
No. Version 2.0 only filters translations at runtime. Files modified by 1.x are not restored by this release.
Does it affect JavaScript?
Yes, scripts using the WordPress wp.i18n package, provided their translations run after the filter is installed. Other JavaScript translation methods are not covered.
Can I use commas or vertical bars in a rule?
The legacy rule format reserves commas as separators and the first vertical bar as the delimiter. These characters cannot currently be used freely in search strings.
