Simulation Mode uses explicitly worded sample events for setup and preview. Its visible “Demo” badge is always shown. Real Data Mode shows supported records from enabled sources on your site.

The action (e.g. “purchased …”, “signed up”, “left a review”) and a relative time are always shown. Fully anonymous mode shows “Someone” and no location. Short-name mode reduces a surname to an initial when available and can show city/country. Full-name mode shows the stored public name and location. Email-shaped values, address lines and order totals are not included by the built-in sources.

The frontend uses vanilla JavaScript without jQuery, and events are cached server-side for a few minutes. Actual page-load and layout impact depends on your theme, plugins and cache configuration, so measure the page before and after enabling it.

Choose Fully anonymous, shortened names or full names. Email-shaped values are suppressed. The Privacy section above explains local records and external licence requests; site owners remain responsible for lawful settings and disclosures.

No. WooCommerce is an optional source. Without it you can still show comments/reviews or use Simulation Mode. EDD and new-user signups are part of TrueProof Pro.

During normal use without licence activation, the plugin’s own code does not call a third-party service; its frontend requests event data from this WordPress site’s REST endpoint. Entering, periodically validating or deactivating a licence posts the licence key, home URL and requested action to wptrueproof.com. The built-in request body does not include notification-source records; standard network metadata is also received by that service.

Buy a license at wptrueproof.com , then paste the key into Settings → TrueProof → License and click Activate.

Not in the built-in 2.4.0 source. EDD notifications say “bought a product”; they do not contain the download title or match events to the product being viewed. Read the EDD workflow and limitations before choosing Pro. The dedicated Products display rule targets WooCommerce product pages, not EDD downloads.
