Identify what is cached and where
A cache can reduce repeated work only while its entries remain available. List the data being cached, its freshness policy and its storage location. Distinguish application data cache, generated assets, browser cache and CDN cache before deciding which directory should persist.
Do not treat every file under a build directory as disposable or every file as durable. Review the framework and deployment layout actually used by the application.
Plan for the deployment lifecycle
Test what happens on an app restart and on a fresh release deployment. If a host replaces the release directory, a locally written cache may disappear even though the application restarts successfully. A persistent volume or supported shared cache can address that lifecycle when configured correctly.
